Kristina worked in mental health crisis, trauma and casework services for over a decade before returning to school for her Masters degree at Scranton University’s Counseling Program.
She graduated in 2013 with qualifications to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as a K-12 School Counselor.
While working in school based counseling programs with students and their families, Kristina brought innovation and expressive activities to make counseling an engaging and meaningful experience for participants.
Kristina has been in private practice since 2017, offering online counseling and from her Honesdale Pennsylvania office.
She is also a licensed massage therapist and Reiki student.
Kristina completed intensive Internal Family Systems training (also called Self Leadership), an approach that brings her personal as well as professional growth. She trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions, Polyvagal or Vagal Nerve Regulation for the Body, and Mindfulness Skills for mental health.
Kristina brings specific interventions and helpful approaches to parenting, partnering and living with major mental health conditions such as ADHD, depression, anxieties, OCD, trauma and more.

All aspects of your treatment are confidential within the practice.
Important exceptions include if there is risk that you might do harm to yourself or someone else that is not resolved adequately in session. All counselors are mandated reporters.
$70 -$138 for counseling and neurofeedback sessions
limited sliding scale arrangements and CVOT available
Some insurance plans excepted as well as self-pay and HSAs.

If you want to use your health insurance to help pay for your sessions, I recommend that you call the health insurance company and ask:
1. Have they waived co-pays and deductibles during the COVID-19 and for how long? Is this for COVID-19 related issues only?
2. Will telehealth (online counseling sessions) be covered and for how long?
3. Ask if I, Kristina Peary, LPC, am in-network as a provider. If not can I be an out-of network provider with your insurance policy?
4. What will your co-pays will be? Any other limits to the policies coverage?
Kristina will submit directly to insurance companies for reimbursement when possible.
She can also provide a receipt for services paid that you can submit to your insurance company, FlexSpending and HSA accounts for reimbursement.
In general, weekly appointments are held as standing appointments with adjustments made when communicated. Every effort is made to reschedule missed appointments.
